Mommy and Me, From A to Z, Devotional

Well, hopefully somebody has noticed that the weekly mom devo and kid devo pairings stopped abruptly after “I Week.”  Fear not, for there is a perfectly logical explanation.  Let me explain!

For many years, family and friends…and even a man who prophesied over me at church several years ago…have said, “I love to read what you write!  You should write books or something.” (Well, the prophet hadn’t read what I wrote, but He felt the Lord tell him I would write!)  It sounded good, in theory…but alas, I wasn’t sure what to write that somebody would want to read all of, let alone PAY to read it!

In January, the Lord gave me this year’s word…NEW.  He had me start a blog, named it, and started giving me content.  Content was “random,” then went to a single word focus while fleshing out multiple ways that word was spoken of in scripture.  Then, He led me to a letter a week, a post per week, for moms and for kids.  Well, after some prayer and fasting and quite a few nudges and years, I’m excited to say He has given me direction for the first book!  In fact, I ran it by an author who teaches a seminar on book-writing, and she loved the concept!

So, you’re in on the ground floor announcement!  I won’t be doing the weekly blog posts for a while, though I may return to it at some point.  After all…you can’t do a weekly devotional with a letter a week and end with I, for heavens’s sake!

Here is the premise, scope, and sneak peak for the book!  It has a “letter a week” concept, just like the blogs were.  It will have 5 different words per letter for mom and for her child (mom and child each getting on-their-level spiritual nourishment, while mom only has to manage not to lose ONE book!), and she can skip whatever 2 days she wants…no guilt allowed!  The kid selections will have educational focus (a Bible book and a Bible character per week…unless there isn’t one…ha!) as well as life application, while the mom selections will focus more on applying truths to live with her eyes fixed on Jesus!

I am so incredibly excited about this!  Helping and encouraging moms is one of the strongest passions of my heart!  I am praying for every facet of the book, how to write it (and WHEN, with 4 kids!), content, an attentive spirit to write what HE wants me to write, how to publish, etc.  I can’t wait to see exactly what He has in store for this new adventure!
