I is for…Imagine

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we can ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.… (Ephesians 3:20-21)

What do you think when I say the word “imagine”?  Do you think in pictures?  Do you see objects from nature?  Do you see dragons or flowers or fairies or unicorns?  Do you think of coloring pages or craft projects?  Do you see machines or objects that help people?  Do you think in vivid colors or black and white?  Do you see Lego creations or sewing projects?  Do you see photographs with special effects or hear special sounds?  Do you hear songs or see paintings?  Do you think of stories you want to tell?

All of these “imagine” things are great.  They are each different aspects of imagination.  They are very different from each other.  Yet, even all together, they don’t come CLOSE to all that God can do, think, and imagine!

You see, Genesis 1:27 says that we (every single person, EVER) are made in the image of God.  We are created to be like Him.  Yet, no matter how hard we try, Isaiah 55:8 says that His ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts are bigger than our thoughts!  However, Phillipians 4:13 tells us that we can do ALL things through Christ who gives us strength!

Keep reaching, young friend!  Pray, asking God to show you His ways!  Pray that He will show you what He has created inside you and who He has created you to be!  Ask Him to open your eyes to things that only He can show you!  Don’t be afraid to dream, create, think, do…IMAGINE!  Nothing is impossible with God!

Jesus, thank you for the gift of children!  Thank you for each of them!  Help them to not be afraid to dream, create, and be what you want for them!  Help their minds to be free to hear from you and to imagine and create, in your image!
